The mission of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (WACDL) is to foster the integrity, independence and expertise of criminal defense lawyers; to support the criminal defense community through education and the exchange of information; to promote the fair and just administration of criminal justice; and to ensure due process and defend the rights secured by law for all persons accused of crime.

Please note that WACDL cannot offer attorney referrals. If you live in Washington State and are in need of a criminal defense attorney, please visit our attorney directory . If you cannot afford to hire a lawyer, you may ask the court to appoint a public defense attorney to represent you. The determination of eligibility for a court appointed attorney is handled by the local court. Contact information for public defense offices can be found here .
